Die Baukosten belaufen sich auf etwa sieben Millionen Euro und sollen über Förderanträge finanziert werden. Der Kindergarten soll bis Frühjahr 2025 fertiggestellt sein. New Kindergarten „Löwenzahn“ Breaks Ground in Leutkirch

Last Friday marked a significant milestone for the future of childcare in Leutkirch: the groundbreaking ceremony for a new five-group kindergarten took place in the new residential area „Ströhlerweg“. The city of Leutkirch is taking on the role of the facility’s operator for the first time.

Construction work on the kindergarten began in early April, with representatives of the construction and planning companies as well as the city administration symbolically breaking ground for the new building. The new kindergarten will have four group rooms for kindergarten-aged children, one group room for children under three, as well as additional facilities like a movement room, sleeping area, and dining area.

The planned area of the kindergarten is approximately 3,000 m², with the building itself occupying about 880 m². The total project costs amount to around seven million euros, which will be subsidized through various funding grants.

Mayor Hans-Jörg Henle welcomed the participants of the groundbreaking ceremony and thanked the city administration employees and the representatives of the planning and construction companies for their dedication. The kindergarten is expected to be completed by spring 2025. Henle emphasized the importance of the project for the city and praised the commitment of the Leutkirch City Council in selecting this location for the kindergarten.

Carmen Scheich, the city’s Children, Youth, and Family Commissioner, will be the new head of the „Löwenzahn“ kindergarten. She looks forward to returning to her original role as an educator and social worker. Scheich will continue to serve as the Children, Youth, and Family Commissioner until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition.

The new facility, „Kindergarten Löwenzahn“, was revealed during the groundbreaking ceremony and is inspired by the logo of the city of Leutkirch.

As a temporary solution, the first children will be introduced to the premises of the former St. Martin kindergarten in Adrazhofen starting from early May until the operation of the new municipal kindergarten begins.
