Am Mittwochabend brach in Osterzell ein Fahrzeugbrand aus, vermutlich aufgrund eines technischen Defekts im Motorraum. Die örtliche Feuerwehr musste ausrücken, um den Brand zu löschen, wobei die Insassen des Fahrzeugs unverletzt blieben. Der Vorfall ereignete sich in der Nähe des Wertstoffhofes, wo die Fahrerin den Brand bemerkte und die Feuerwehr alarmierte. Trotz des schnellen Eingreifens der Feuerwehr entstand am Fahrzeug erheblicher Sachschaden in Höhe von mehreren tausend Euro. Die Polizei geht davon aus, dass der Brand durch einen technischen Defekt ausgelöst wurde und schließt Fremdverschulden aus.

On Wednesday evening, a car caught fire in the Osterzell municipality, leading to a larger deployment of the local fire department. The occupants, a 25-year-old driver and her 65-year-old passenger, remained unharmed.
The incident occurred in the area of the recycling center, when strong smoke suddenly developed in the car’s engine compartment. Shortly thereafter, a fire broke out, engulfing the engine compartment. The driver safely parked the vehicle before alerting the fire department.
The Osterzell fire department responded with around 20 firefighters and was able to quickly control the fire. However, the vehicle sustained significant damage amounting to several thousand euros.
According to current police investigations, everything points to a technical defect as the cause of the fire. There are no indications of third-party involvement.
