Landrätin Maria Rita Zinnecker vom Tourismusverband Ostallgäu e. V. zieht eine positive Bilanz für das Tourismusjahr 2023 mit einem leichten Wachstum im Frühjahr und Herbst. Insgesamt gab es 3.867.828 Übernachtungen in gewerblichen Betrieben, ein Anstieg von 3,7 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vorjahr. Die Anzahl der touristischen Ankünfte lag bei 1.191.090, jedoch 8,3 Prozent unter den Werten von 2019. Die durchschnittliche Aufenthaltsdauer betrug 3,2 Nächte, wobei 1/8 der Übernachtungen von ausländischen Gästen gebucht wurde. Zinnecker betont die Bedeutung einer gleichbleibenden Auslastung für Betriebe und die touristische Infrastruktur im Ostallgäu.

Landrätin Maria Rita Zinnecker, Chairwoman of the Ostallgäu Tourism Association, gives a positive review of the tourism year 2023. Particularly pleasing was the growth in spring and autumn, indicating a sustainable year-round tourism.
Last year, Ostallgäu recorded a total of 3,867,828 overnight stays in commercial establishments, representing an increase of 3.7 percent compared to 2022. In addition to hotels, guesthouses, and campsites, staying at small rental properties also regained popularity, with nearly a million overnight stays in establishments with less than 10 beds.
The number of tourist arrivals was 1,191,090, significantly higher than the previous year, but 8.3 percent lower than the 2019 figures. The average length of stay was 3.2 nights, with one in eight overnight stays booked by foreign guests.
Zinnecker emphasizes the importance of consistent occupancy for businesses and tourism infrastructure. A stable year-round tourism is both economically viable and predictable, promoting good working conditions for industry employees. Extreme peak occupancies should be avoided to maintain the attractiveness of Ostallgäu as a tourism destination.
